Handling heavy reo bar in confined spaces
The client required the installation of reo bars in 2,000kg piles, which reached up to 35 meters high and 25 meters in diameter. The project challenge involved precisely handling preset diameter reo bars, which were both heavy and large, making lifting and placement difficult. Equiphire devised a tailored solution by designing and supplying custom lifting frames and a machine capable of operating on twin power. This machine ran on electricity, which allowed it to operate safely and efficiently within the confined space of the dome, addressing the challenge of traditional fuel-powered machinery.
The Client’s Challenge
The customer faced the daunting task of installing heavy reo bars into piles with large diameters and significant heights. The physical demands of the project, combined with the unique site conditions inside the dome, made conventional lifting methods unsuitable. The lack of space within the dome made it challenging to position machinery, and traditional cranes would not have been able to work effectively in such a confined area, leading to significant logistical challenges.
Our Tailored Solution
Equiphire responded to these challenges by designing and building custom lifting frames specifically suited to the project’s needs. In addition, we supplied a machine capable of running on electricity, which was crucial for operating inside the dome. This tailored solution provided the client with a reliable, efficient, and safe method for lifting and placing the heavy reo bars into position. The entire process was handled precisely, ensuring the project stayed on schedule and within budget.
